4th International Workshop on Marine Litter Monitoring, Removal and Circular Economy: Challenges and Opportunities

The workshop, co-organized by BlueMissionMed CSA and MAELSTROM project, will present and demonstrate some innovative and transformative solutions to tackle marine litter and microplastic pollution.

The aim of this event is to support the Mediterranean basin in implementing the EU mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters” by promoting an innovation ecosystem and accelerating the implementation of technological, social, entrepreneurial, and governance solutions to advance rapidly towards the goals of protecting and restoring the health of our oceans and waters.

National stakeholders from the Italian HUB BlueMissionMed and key European and international actors will be engaged in a multi-stakeholder mobilization and mutual learning session to gather their feedback and input to facilitate the adoption and implementation of additional solutions aimed at achieving the EU Mission goals.

Side Event: JOINT MAELSTROM, REMEDIES AND SEACLEAR INTERNATIONAL CLEAN UP | June 1, 2024 | Venice

This international initiative is part of the EU-funded projects MAELSTROM, Remedies, and SeaClear2.0, in collaboration with the Plastic Smart Cities program, of which Venice is a signatory. The event will be organized in synergy with the local waste management authority VERITAS and the national and international partners of the mentioned projects, as well as associations dedicated to the sustainable development of the Venetian territory and its lagoon (Legambiente, Poseidone, WWF). The international clean-up is also part of the side events of the Venice Boat Show, with efforts coordinated by the common partner of the three projects, Venice Lagoon Plastic Free.
