Meeting: “My Vendée Globe. The Story of Giancarlo Pedote”

After his solo round-the-world voyage completed in 85 days, the Tuscan-born sailor and Raymarine Ambassador Giancarlo Pedote will be a guest of the brand alongside Sky journalist Sandro Donato Grosso at the 2025 edition of the Venice Boat Show.

Raymarine invites visitors of the Venice Boat Show to hear the extraordinary story of one of the few elite athletes to complete the legendary Vendée Globe.
After nearly three months of daunting challenges and extreme weather conditions, Giancarlo Pedote demonstrates that achievements go far beyond numbers—and that inner strength is the key to overcoming all limits.

Sandro Donato Grosso, Sky journalist, will moderate the talk and guide the audience through the unique moments experienced by the sailor as he crossed the Equator and rounded the three great Capes.

Giancarlo Pedote

Raymarine Ambassador in the sailing world, winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre in Multi 50 (2015), twice Champion of France Promotion Course au Large en Solitaire, two-time leader of the Mini 6.50 class, and 2nd place finisher at the 2013 Minitransat. Named Italian Sailor of the Year in 2013 and 2015, he has participated twice in the Vendée Globe.
Giancarlo Pedote is a unique sailor—he holds a Philosophy degree from the University of Florence and applies a highly methodical approach to offshore sailing.

A TV journalist with over 25 years of experience, Sandro Donato Grosso is a field correspondent for Sky Sport, known for his passion for motorsports and sailing.
