Press Conference Veleziana Sailing Week

A major new event in 2025 is the Veleziana Sailing Week – supported by Generali, a series of events celebrating sailing and Venetian maritime tradition, with the participation of all the historic sailing associations of Venice. Promoted by the Compagnia della Vela di Venezia, the Veleziana Sailing Week will take place over four days, from October 16 to 19, honoring Venice’s seafaring heritage and highlighting the deep connection between Venice and the sea through a variety of water-related sporting activities. The week will culminate with the famous Veleziana Regatta.

The Veleziana is unique as the only regatta that starts at sea and finishes inside the city of Venice. Its 18th edition will be held on Sunday, October 19. Participating boats will line up in the sea area outside the Bocche di Porto of San Nicoletto. After the start, they will round a turning mark placed offshore and then head towards the gate near the breakwater of San Nicoletto. Navigating along the Bocca di Porto, they will pass to the right of Forte di Sant’Andrea to begin the lagoon course. After rounding the gardens of Sant’Elena, they will sail through the Bacino di San Marco to reach the finish line located opposite the Palazzo Ducale.
