MUVE Yacht Project

Since the first edition of the Venice Boat Show in 2019, great attention has been paid to innovative and experimental naval design. The event plans to reserve spaces within the Arsenale for professional or student designers, individuals or groups, to exhibit studies and projects of boats of all types and materials during the days of the show. In this regard, an international competition has been promoted for the presentation of the most advanced design both for what concerns the structure of motor and sail units and for the furnishings of the interiors, the components and the propulsion systems, with particular emphasis on environmental sustainability.

The competition, curated by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia in collaboration with the City of Venice and Vela Spa, has selected, in its three editions, the following projects exhibited in the section of the show called “MUVE Yacht Projecys”:

  • 2019 Competition for the selection of studies and projects of boats;
  • 2021 International competition for the selection of studies and projects of boats – Sustainable Navigation;
  • 2022 International competition for the selection of studies and projects of boats – Sustainable Navigation;

The 2023 edition is aimed at projects of boats, without dimensional limits, or parts of them, on the theme: “Innovative solutions for the sustainability and flexibility of use of charter units. Concept for the design and management of the life cycle of rental units, with particular attention to environmental sustainability.”
