The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia announces the success of the sixth edition of the call for the Selection of Boat Studies and Projects – Sustainable Navigation, promoted by MUVE Academy, which saw the participation of 20 projects from leading Italian universities for naval design and engineering.
The initiative sponsored by ADI – Italian Association for Industrial Design, and with the support of the magazine Yacht Design, will present the selected works through a call that focuses on sustainable navigation, an essential element for the promotion of innovative and current creativity, applied to projects for small luxury cruise ships, with particular attention to energy saving and the reduction of environmental impact.
The projects were evaluated by a prestigious Scientific Committee, coordinated by the engineer, naval architect and CEO of Nuvolari Lenard srl Carlo Nuvolari-Duodo and composed of Mariacristina Gribaudi, President of MUVE, Jill Bobrow, nautical journalist Editor-in-Chief of magazines such as Boat International Media, ShowBoats International, Yachts International, Marco Bognolo, Vice President Basic Design, Fincantieri and Fabrizio Iarrera, CEO of Silent Yachts, a company producing electric catamarans.
Also for this year, the Scientific Committee has decided to enhance the national educational offer by collecting the contributions of the students of the University of Genoa, Degree courses in Yacht Design and Naval and Nautical Design, led by Paola Gualeni, Mario Ivan Zignego and Massimo Musio-Sale, of the Politecnico di Milano, with the courses in Master in Yacht Design and the Course in Executive Interior Yacht Design, coordinated by Andrea Ratti and of the University of Trieste Degree in Naval Engineering, coordinated by Giorgio Sulligoi and Vittorio Bucci;

The selected projects will be presented to the public during the Salone Nautico di Venezia, on the afternoon of May 29, 2025, at the Torre di Porta Nuova at the Arsenale.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Abate Zanetti di Murano, specializing in Glass Art, the students of this institute have created the prestigious artistic glass awards that will be assigned to the most deserving projects.
The initiative represents an important opportunity for discussion between the academic and professional worlds, contributing to growth and innovation in the nautical sector.
