Conference: “Research, Education, Innovation. Towards a Knowledge Cluster in Venice”
The creation of a knowledge cluster in Venice represents one of the most important strategic challenges for the city’s future: a concrete opportunity for socio-economic regeneration and the rebalancing of a productive and community fabric that is currently heavily dependent on tourism. Thanks to its vocation as a meeting place between cultures, the historic presence of leading academic institutions, and a globally recognizable territorial profile, Venice has the prerequisites to become an urban hub dedicated to research, innovation/co-innovation, and education.
This seminar aims to explore the potential of such a development perspective by sharing visions, experiences, and contributions from Venetian stakeholders already involved in the process, presenting successful international models, and gathering insights from some of the entrepreneurial realities collaborating with VSF – Fondazione Venezia Capitale Mondiale della Sostenibilità.
This event is part of the initiatives of the Biennale della Sostenibilità 2025. The second edition of the Biennale, promoted and organized by VSF, is called Urbs et Civitas and focuses on the balance between the urbs (the physical city) and the civitas (the community living in it), aiming to explore a model of integrated sustainability for Venice and reflect on its significance as a global model.
Admission by invitation only. To request an invitation, please send an email to: [email protected]
